A Trapper (特殊工作兵(トラッパー), Torappā Lit. specialized sapper ?) is a Border agent who specializes in the use of Trap Triggers.

Specifics[]

The Trapper position is one of the 9 official positions available to Border agents, one of the 7 directly involved in combat, and one of the 3 a C-rank trainee seemingly cannot work towards.[1] This is because the Trigger that classifies the user as a Trapper, Switchbox, does not appear to be available to anyone below B-rank.[1] The exact requirements to become a Trapper are unknown, as is whether there is a ranking for this position.

Overview[]

The primary duty of a Trapper seem to be assisting teammates in moving around the field,[2] fitting the role of this class a supporting one.[3] However, they also possess marks capable of inflicting damage and to impede opponents.[4] Overall, Trappers seem to fight stealthily, laying their traps while remaining hidden.[5]

List of Trappers[]

There are 3 known Trappers in Border.[6]

The following Trappers are listed by their Squad's ranking at the end of the most recent season of rank wars.

Trivia[]

  • A Sapper, also called pioneer or combat engineer, is a combatant or soldier who performs a variety of military engineering duties such as breaching, demolitions, bridge-building... A sapper's duties are devoted to tasks involving facilitating movement, defense and survival of allied forces and impeding those of enemies, which perfectly match the uses of Switchbox seen thus far.
  • All known Trappers have the exact same Trigger set.[6] It is unknown if this is a requirement of the position.
  • Trappers cannot participate in solo rank wars.[7]

  7. Daisuke Ashihara: Q: Can Trappers like Fuyushima participate in solo Rank Wars?
A: Due to the nature of the Trapper position, they cannot participate in solo Rank Wars or combined training. There are still only a small number of Trappers, so they exchange information and research within themselves.
